Santhra Thambidurai is the founder and educational leader of Numeracy Coach. Her mathematics teaching background spans pre-algebra through AP and college-level statistics, with experience teaching in the classroom and working with learners individually and in small groups online. That breadth shapes a practical priority: find the earlier idea a student needs, then connect it to the work in front of them.
For Santhra, a correct calculation is the beginning of a conversation. Can the student explain why the method applies? Interpret the result in context? Use the idea in a different problem? She guides Numeracy Coach’s emphasis on subject expertise, careful questioning, and purposeful practice.
